Starting with a new employee's orientation to working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, a number of opportunities are available that encourage learning and enhance performance for individuals, workgroups or entire departments.
Orientation
The first two days on the job are spent in a workshop with other new Memorial Sloan-Kettering employees. This workshop is designed to welcome new employees and present information about the Center's history, benefits and opportunities for employees.
Other Career Development Opportunities
In addition to tuition reimbursement, which is available for eligible employees seeking academic degrees or position-appropriate certification, employees are also able to take advantage of several Memorial Sloan-Kettering-sponsored learning opportunities that help enhance job performance, many of which are offered electronically, as well as in a classroom setting. These include:
-
Staff Development Courses
Help employees perform specific aspects of their jobs better.
-
Management Development Courses
Provide essential information for new managers about Memorial Sloan-Kettering's policies, procedures, and management practices.
-
Leadership Development Program
Guides selected participants through coursework and exercises to help them gain knowledge and skills necessary for becoming organizational leaders.
