Memorial Sloan-Kettering offers benefits and other programs to help eligible employees meet their current individual and family needs -- as well as some that help prepare for the future. These include:

Flexible Benefits

Our flexible benefits program gives you money, called flex dollars, that you apply to benefits you choose based on your needs and situation. Flex dollars can be used to pay for medical coverage through one of several available medical plans; prescription drug coverage that requires only a co-payment; dental coverage; accidental death and dismemberment coverage; long-term disability; and life insurance. We offer medical and dental coverage to the domestic partners (and their children) of regular employees through the plans in which employees are enrolled.

Pension/Retirement Plans

Memorial Sloan-Kettering encourages and rewards long-term employees by providing pension and retirement plans, including a voluntary, tax-deferred annuity plan.

Health & Dependent Care Spending Plans

Optional, flexible spending accounts allow you to set aside a portion of your salary so you can use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible health and dental expenses not covered by your insurance plan as well as IRS-approved dependent care expenses (such as day care or pre-school tuition).

Long-Term Care

Memorial Sloan-Kettering offers a group policy underwritten by Aetna Life Insurance Company that provides coverage for nursing home or adult day care when you need assistance to care for yourself. You and your eligible family members may apply for the coverage.

Holidays, Vacations & Sick Leave

In addition to 12 paid holidays every year, employees are eligible for vacation time based on job classification and length of service. Sick leave allows you to receive your regular salary for a period of time should illness or injury prevent you from working.

Tuition Reimbursement

Reimbursement for tuition is available for regular, full-time employees (with at least six months of continuous service) who are interested in furthering their education and enhancing their skills. Credited courses that are relevant to an employee's current position or career development at Memorial Sloan-Kettering are reimbursed if they meet the criteria of the Tuition Reimbursement Program.

Transportation Debit Card Program

Optional salary deductions allow you to pay for eligible commuting expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Work/Life Balance

Memorial Sloan-Kettering offers a number of programs that help employees maintain balance between their work and home lives or overcome stressful situations that may or may not be related to work. These include programs such as backup childcare when regular childcare is not available; an employee assistance program which provides a short-term counseling and referral service to help employees with personal problems such as depression, addiction, relationship difficulties; health and wellness programs such as massage, yoga, acupuncture, nutritional counseling, and relaxation techniques; and seminars and a referral service that provide information on a range of topics to help employees manage various aspects of their lives.

Employee Discounts

Discounts are available for Memorial Sloan-Kettering employees from a variety of retailers and other vendors for items such as theater and movie tickets, amusement park admissions, clothing, restaurants, hotels and rental cars.
