Our new research studies for myelodysplastic syndrome

Proper care of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is critically dependent on a correct diagnosis. Physicians at Memorial Sloan-Kettering are expert at distinguishing MDS from the many other conditions with which it is often confused. Physicians here employ an array of sophisticated technologies -- such as cytogenetic, molecular, and immunohistochemistry studies -- to characterize blood and bone marrow cells precisely and to identify the most appropriate course of treatment for individual patients.
