2008 Pediatric Prom At Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Pediatric Prom, patients, family members, friends, and staff join together to celebrate.
Runtime: 5 minutes. |

It began with a trip to "Promingdale's" -- a boutique of dresses and tuxedos set up in the Pediatric Day Hospital Recreation Center -- and climaxed in a transformed Memorial Sloan-Kettering cafeteria where a disco ball, banquet tables laden with food, nonstop music, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering's partying pediatric patients made the annual Pediatric Prom the place to be on June 4.
Members of The Society's Children's Committee volunteered to help with everything from dress and tuxedo donations and distribution to the pinning on of the 200 corsages and boutonnieres that were donated by David Beahm Design. Dress donors included Associates Committee member and fashion designer Shoshanna Gruss, Badgley Mischka, Jessica McClintock, Best & Co., Group USA, A Little Indulgence, Little Follies, Natalie and Friends, and eDressMe New York. Vineyard Vines donated bow ties, and AT Harris donated tuxedo shirts and cummerbunds. Makeup artists from BeautyBlitz.com gave their time to glamorize female partygoers from toddlers to teens. And Seventeen magazine supplied T-shirts, magazines, and makeup for 40 gift bags for Memorial Sloan-Kettering pediatric inpatients.
The Co-Chairmen of the Children's Committee are Lavinia Snyder and Stephanie Griswold.
