Vice Chair, Clinical Research, Department of Surgery
I am a surgical oncologist with special training in cancers of the colon, rectum, appendix, and anus. My interests include surgical techniques for rectal cancer that avoid colostomy and preserve bowel and sexual function, laparoscopic surgery for colorectal tumors, colon cancer in children and young adults, and liver metastases.
My laboratory studies the genetic basis underlying the growth and metastatic spread of colorectal cancer and is developing genetic tests to aid in the management of colon and rectal cancers.
