Diane L. Carlson
Associate Director, Pathology Fellowship Training Programs
As a surgical pathologist, I play a direct role not only in the diagnosis and staging of tumors, but also in treatment planning for patients with cancer. I diagnose neoplasms of the head and neck, as well as diseases of the breast.

I am an active member of the Head and Neck Disease Management Team, which unites physicians and other specialists as a multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care to patients with head and neck cancers.

I am also actively involved in research collaborations that explore molecular mechanisms in the evolution of neoplastic squamous lesions of the head and neck, as well as the evaluation of therapeutic agents and targets for several forms of cancer.
